KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Two children were killed and eight others people were wounded in a bomb blast in the southern province of Kandahar on Thursday, an official said.
The blast that took place in a steel shop in the limits of second police district, left 10 people, including three women director, Dr. Abdul Qayyum, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Two of the children succumbed to their injuries later in a hospital, he said, adding one of the injured women was said to be in a critical condition.
Three wounded women and a child belonged to the same family, Mohammad Karim, whose house was damaged in the explosion, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The governor’s spokesman, Zalmay Ayubi, said an investigation had been launched into the incident. He said the blast was apparently caused by an unexploded shell in the shop.
