KABUL ‘A’ for a three-match one-day series in the neighbouring country, the cricket board announced.

The Afghanistan cricket board (ACB) announced a 15 member squad for the series beginning May 25 in Faisalabad. The second match is scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi on May 27 while the third in Abbottabad two days later.

Pakistan cricket board, which also announced its side on Wednesday, had vowed to provide training to Afghan players and coaches during the tournament.

The Afghan squad is:  Nawroz Mangal (captain), Karim Sadiq (vice capt) Mohammad Shahzad, Noor Ali Zadran, Mohammad Asghar, Javed Ahmadi, Saimullah Shinwari, Mirwais Ashraf, Hamid Hassan, Shah Pur Zadran, Ezatullah Daulatzai, Shabir Noori and Nasimullah.

He has been asked to lead the team in a low-profile series against the visiting Afghans, just to prove his fitness.

Several left-handed batsmen including Shan Masood, Sharjeel Khan, Umar Amin and Naved Yasin have been named in the side, Squad:

Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Sharjeel Khan, Umar Amin, Naved Yasin, Usman Salahuddin, Rameez Raja, Mansoor Amjad, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper), Zulfiqar Babar, Yasir Shah, Sohail Tanvir (captain), Sohail Khan, Mohammad Talha, Sadaf Hussain.
