2 NATO-led troops killed in IED strikes

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Two more foreign troops were killed in improvised explosive device (IED) attacks in Afghanistaninfo-icon, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) said on Wednesday.

The deaths were announced in brief statements from the NATOinfo-icon-led force that neither revealed nationalities of the fallen soldiers nor the exact locations of the IED strikes.

One ISAF servicemember died in northern Afghanistan on Wednesday and another in the Talibaninfo-icon's southern heartland, the alliance said.

The fresh fatalities bring to 179 the number of international soldiers killed in Afghanistan so far in 2011. Last year, the deadliest for ISAF, 711 foreign troops died in the country.
