Afghans lose Pakistan tour opener
After winning the toss, Afghan skipper Nawroz Mangal opted to bat in the first of three-match series. The visors' batting line-up collapsed like a house of cards.
But vice-captain, Mohammad Nabi EIssakhel, demonstrated a sense of responsibility and caution. He scored a valuable 38 to guide Afghanistan to 152 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone from Islamabad, team manager Shafiq Stanikzai said the hosts reached the target for the loss of five wickets.
For Pakistan, Sharjil Khan (48) and Osman Amin (29) shone with the willow. The second friendly will be played in Rawalpindi on May 27 (Friday), the manager said.
