PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A Turkish engineer, who was abducted three weeks back, was freed in central Logar, province on Saturday, an official said.

Kamaluddin and two other Turkish engineers had been abducted by suspected militants on their way to Kabul from Gardez, the Logar police chief said.

Col. Ghulam Sakhi Rough Lewanai told Pajhwok Afghan News the men were seized in the Ali Khan area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam — the capital of Logar.

The engineer, whose colleagues are still missing, is said to be in poor health. The police officer had no information how the engineer’s release was secured.
