KABUL): An appellate court of the Afghan Special Narcotics Force sentenced nine drug smugglers to different prison terms on Tuesday.
The smugglers were arrested with six kilograms of heroin, 13.5 kg of opium, 995 kg of hashish, 172 kg of chemicals and 98 litres of alcoholic drinks.
The convicts hail from Badakhshan, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Panjsher and Balkh provinces, a statement from the court said.
Without specifying exact dates, the Afghan Special Narcotics Force said the men were arrested while carrying the narcotics.
