4 foreign troops killed in east

KABUL, the American military said on Wednesday.

The deaths happened on Saturday, the US military said in a statement that gave no further details. In line with its policy, it deferred casualty identification procedures to the
Department of Defense.

Also in eastern Afghanistan, one of the Taliban‘s heartland, an International Security Assistance Force soldier died following an insurgent attack, the alliance said.

With the latest fatalities, the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan so far during the current year has reached 197. In 2010, the deadliest year for ISAF-led soldiers were killed.
