Takhar attack facilitator detained
KABUL (PAN): An Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan facilitator involved in this week's deadly attack on the Takhar governor's compound was detained along with several associates during a night-time security operation, ISAF said on Wednesday.
Afghan government officials and civilians, including two top police commanders, were killed and wounded in the bombing in Taloqan, the alliance said in a statement.
In direct contact with Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan leadership in Pakistan, providing them with specific reports on the damage effects of the May 28 blast, the man was arrested in Mazar-i-Sharif on Monday.
"A combined Afghan and coalition force located the facilitator at his associated compound in Mazar-i-Sharif. Afghan members of the force assaulted the compound where they found the facilitator along with several associates."
