MAIDAN SHAHR (PANinfo-icon):  A local police commander was injured in a roadside bombing in the central province of Maidan Wardak on Thursday, officials said.

The police commander was guarding a road construction project the in Shah Kabulinfo-icon area of Nirkh district, the administrative head of the town, Mohammad Hanif Hanifi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The commander, Toraki, and his guard were seriously injured and taken to a healthinfo-icon facility of foreign troops in neighbouring Logar province.

Police have launched a hunt for the perpetrators, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, said. The commander had been injured in a similar blast two years ago.
