Suspected bomber killed by own explosives

CHARIKAR): A man was killed when his explosives-laden car was detonated in central Panjsher province, the governor said on Thursday.

The incident took place late on Wednesday night in the Astana area, Karamuddin Karim told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The suspected bomber’s car exploded before he approached his target, the governor said, without explaining who the target was. An investigation has been launched about the incident.

Mohammad Zarif, a resident of the area, said: “At about 8pm we heard an explosion. On reaching the spot, we saw a wrecked car and a dead body.”
