FARAH CITY (PAN): Five insurgents were killed and six others wounded in a clash with policemen in western Farah province on Friday morning, an official said.
The firefight was triggered by a Taliban assault on a police convoy in the Gorchi area of Khak-i-Safid district, the provincial police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Erupting at about 8am, the clash was still ongoing, Brig. Gen. Syed Mohammad Roshan Dil said. Police seized two militants’ bodies, two Kalashnikovs, as many machine guns and a motorbike.
With no immediate comment from the fighters, Roshan Dil said policemen had suffered no casualties in the attack.
