Joint council backs Afghan-led peace effort
While supporting an Afghan-owned reintegration effort, the two sides urged the international community to lend its weight to the process.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, Chief of Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani, ISI Director General Shuja Pasha, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir and Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq represented Pakistan.
Pakistan renewed its support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity, in addition to asking the country's neighbours to uphold the principles of non-interference and non-intervention.
The participants agreed on greater intelligence-intelligence and military-to-military cooperation in dealing with the insurgents. Separate military and intelligence meetings, whenever required, were also agreed.
