5 insurgents killed in Farah operation

ZARANJ (PAN): Five insurgents were killed and three others injured in a joint operation by Afghan and US-led coalition forces in western Farah province on Wednesday, officials said.

Two policemen were also injured and a Taliban fighter detained during the two-day offensive in Bala Baluk district, the provincial police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Brig. Gen. Syed Mohammad Roshan Del said three heavy machine guns, two mortars, and one anti-aircraft gun were seized from the insurgents.
