KABUL‘s embassy in Kabul, the National Directorate of Security said in a statement on Monday.

Zarajam and accomplice Mateullah, who in February attacked a branch of Kabul Bank in the eastern Nangarhar province, were hanged today at 11:00 am in the Pul-i-Charkhi prison, east of Kabul, the statement said.

Zarajam, a resident of northern Waziristan, carried out the attack while wearing a military uniform.

Mateullah’s body will be returned to his family in Jalalabad.

Meanwhile, the Taliban condemned the execution and vowed to take revenge. Rebel spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said those killed in Jalalabad attack were government security men.
