LASHKARGAH (PAN): An explosion injured seven civilians in the southern province of Helmand, officials said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday evening when a remote-controlled bomb, fitted on a cart, exploded in Lashkargah City, the governor’s spokesman, Daud Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The motive behind the attack is unclear. There were no security vehicles or other government officials in the area. The injured were taken to the hospital, he added.

A doctor confirmed on the condition of anonymity that that seven people, including two children, had been admitted to the hospital. He added that they were in stable condition.
