Work on district HQ building launched in Nangarhar
JALALABAD (PAN): Construction work on a district building, an American Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) funded project, was launched in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Sunday, an official said.
The Khogyani district headquarters building would have 32 rooms, a meeting hall, and other additional units and is being constructed over three acres of land with a six months timescale, the district chief, Hajji Mohammad Hasan, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He estimated the cost at $200,000, which would be provided by the PRT.
Meanwhile, a newly-constructed building for a school was inaugurated in the province, said Fazal Rahman, the education department director.
Funded by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the structure cost $92,000, he said, adding the new building had the capacity of housing more than 400 students, both male and female.
