Lithuania’s PM calls on Karzai

KABUL): Lithuania’s Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius on Sunday met President Hamid Karzai at the Presidential Palace in Kabul and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.

A statement issued from the palace said Kubilius pledged his country’s continued support to Afghanistan in various fields of life even beyond the completion of the troop drawdown by 2014.

Kubilius and Karzai discussed the situation in Afghanistan and in the region, the security transition plan and others.

Lithuania has 237 troops based in Ghor province. so far one Lithuanian soldier has been killed in the conflict.
