Second Kandahar blast kills a civilian
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A civilian was killed and two others injured in a roadside bombing in the southern province of Kandahar, an official said on Thursday.
The incident took place on Thursday when a police vehicle was patrolling the Loya Wyala area of the ninth district of Kandahar City, provincial police chief Gen. Abdul Razaq told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Police suffered no casualties, but a civilian was killed and two others injured in the blast, which occurred at roughly the same time as a suicide attack targeting the Fatiha ceremony of Wali Karzai, he said.
A dead body and two injured people were taken to hospital, a doctor of Mirwais Civil Hospital said on condition of anonymity.
No has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, Maulvi Hikmatullah Hikmat, the head of Kandahar Ulema Council, was among three people killed and another 15 injured in a suicide blast at a mosque hosting a prayer gathering for the slain brother of President Hamid Karzai.
