KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A civilian was killed and two others injured in a roadside bombing in the southern province of Kandahar, an official said on Thursday.

The incident took place on Thursday when a police vehicle was patrolling the Loya Wyala area of the ninth district of Kandahar City, provincial police chief Gen. Abdul Razaq told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Police suffered no casualties, but a civilian was killed and two others injured in the blast, which occurred at roughly the same time as a suicide attack targeting the Fatiha ceremony of Wali Karzai, he said.

A dead body and two injured people were taken to hospital, a doctor of Mirwais Civil Hospital said on condition of anonymity.

No has claimed responsibility for the attack.
