KABUL): At least 15 individuals were sentenced to three to 20 years of imprisonment and hard labor on charges of drug smuggling, officials said on Saturday.
The individuals were sentenced by the court of appeals of the Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF), according toa statement the CJTF delivered to Pajhwok Afghan News.
The individuals were arrested in various parts of the country on charges such as the possession of 10 kg of heroin, 798 kg of opium, and 142 kg of morphine.
According to the statement, the convicted individuals will appeal to Afghanistan’s Supreme Court.
