Three NATO-led servicemembers died in a roadside bombing in eastern Afghanistan on Monday morning, the alliance said in a brief statement that did neither disclosed the exact location of the attack nor the victims’ nationalities.
Separately, twosoldiers were killed in a similar assault in the Taliban‘s southern heartland on Sunday, the day the much-publicised security transition process was set in motion in central Bamyan province.
With the latest fatalities, the number of international soldiers killed in Afghanistan this year has reached 318, including 222 Americans. Last year, the deadliest for the NATO-led force, 711 foreign soldiers were killed in the country.
