MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Five civilians were killed and 15 others injured in a bomb explosion in northern Balkh province on Wednesday, officials said.
Explosives planted on a bicycle were detonated around noon in the Dash-i-Shor area on the outskirts of Mazar-i-Sharif city, a police officer said on condition of anonymity.
A man crashed his explosives-rigged bicycle into a van, the source said, giving no details about the casualties.
Acting head of Mazar-i-Sharif Civil Hospital, Dr. Haidar, confirmed receiving five dead bodies and 15 wounded civilians. Five children and a woman are among the injured.
But police spokesman, Sher Jan Durani, said four people were killed and 14 others injured.
