Alcohol, expired medicine destroyed in Kabul

KABUL): Thousands of bottles of alcoholic beverages and six tonnes of expired or illegal medicines were destroyed in the capital Kabul, officials said on Wednesday.

The banned beverages and medicine were recovered with police assistance from Kabul customs and guest houses, the Kabul customs head, Safiullah Mushfaq, told to the reporters.

The materials included 17,430 cans of beer, 4,283 bottles of wine, 55 jerry cans of alcohol, 16 bags wine grapes, and six tons of expired and illegal medicine, he said.
