11 Taliban killed in Pakistani airstrike
Naeem Bangash, a local official, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Pakistani fighter jets bombarded Taliban hideouts in the Masozai area early Sunday, killing 11 Taliban and wounding 6 others.
Bangash said two Taliban hideouts were destroyed in the operation.
This comes a day after 20 fighters from both sides were killed in a clash between the Taliban and local tribal militias in the area.
Samad Hussain, a tribal elder of Masozai tribe, thanked the government for conducting the predawn air strikes.
He added that the Taliban had sought safe havens in their area and were also crossing into Afghanistan to launch attacks on Afghan and international forces.
