4 Afghans die of malaria in Pakistan
The disease spread among refugees at the Dargai camp in Malakand agency, where 11 Afghan refugees are residing.
Ten people, including five of his family, contracted malaria, Qari Anar Gul, a resident of the camp, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Four of them died of the disease.
Unlike in years past, the anti-mosquito spraying campaign was not conducted this year, said another resident of the camp, Abdullah.
Dr. Mohammad Omar, who runs his private clinic in Dargai, said there was a lack of health facilities in the area.
Community Health, an NGO, has started providing medical assistance for the infected people, but they could not reach out to all patients, he added.
