PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Two militants were killed and a third wounded during a clash with Afghan and foreign forces in the Barak-i-Barak district of central Logar province, an official said on Tuesday.
The four-hour firefight was touched off by a rebel attack on a joint patrol of Afghan-ISAF forces in the Babur area late on Monday, the district chief, Rahim Amin, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Din Mohammad Dervish, the governor’s spokesman, said the security personnel had suffered no casualties in the gunbattle.
Separately, the Taliban fuel supply tanker in the Honi Saydan area of the district. Amin said the assailants fled the scene after setting the tanker on fire.
