Trilateral core group to meet in Islamabad on Aug. 2
KABUL (PAN): The US-Afghanistan-Pakistan Core Group, established to promote the Afghan-led reconciliation effort, will be held in Islamabad on August 2, the Foreign Office in Islamabad announced on Saturday.
US Special Representative Marc Grossman, Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Jawed Lodin and Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir will attend the fourth meeting of the group.
Military and intelligence officials from the three countries would also participate in the meeting, a statement from the Foreign Office said.
The US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan is currently on a swing through the Central Asian region to muster support for the Afghan peace process.
