KABUL won one gold, two silver and one bronze medals in the 3rd Asian Wrestling Championship played in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, an official said on Sunday.
Bangladesh Home Minister Sahara Khatun inaugurated the championship at the National Sports Council Wooden Floor Gymnasium in Dhaka on Thursday. The completion concluded late on Saturday.
Wrestlers from Afghanistan, Iraq Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Taiwan, Palestine, China, Japan, South Korea, Syria, Thailand, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, Bhutan, Mongolia, Singapore and Bangladesh took part in the three-day meet.
The Afghanistan National Olympic Committee spokesman, Mujibullah Rahmani, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghan contestants won a gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
Mustafa Nuristani bagged the gold medal in discus throw and Ahmad Shakib Attayee grabbed the bronze medal, he said.
