KABUL Cup Qualifier in Dublin, Ireland, an official said on Tuesday.
Ten countries are participating in the tournament that began last week. Hosts Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, Scotland and the USA have registered wins.
Afghanistan played their fourth match against the US late on Monday night. Bating first, the team was bundled out for 182 runs off 42 overs, said Sher Aqa, the team manager.
Only Najib Zadran, who scored 70 runs, played well, he told Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone from Ireland.
The US attained the target in the 45th over, thanks to Mital Patel, who completed the tournament’s first hat-trick against Afghanistan at the Hills Cricket Club.
Afghanistan were helped by a 96-run sixth wicket stand between Nasir Ahmadzai (47) and Najibullah Zadran’s 70 off 68 balls featuring 14 boundaries.
Rain interrupted play after 3.1 overs and when it resumed, the match was reduced to 46-overs-a-side. Afghans have played four matches in the tournament, losing three and winning one.
Teams from the US, Afghanistan, Namibia, Canada, Scotland, Ireland, PNG, Kenya, Nepal and Vanuatu are taking part in the tournament.
