Militants attack ISAF logistics convoy in Wardak
KABUL (PAN): Anti-government militants have torched two logistics trucks of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in central Maidan Wardak province on Thursday, an official said.
The incident took place on main Kabul-Kandhar highway in Salar area of Syedabad district late in the afternoon, the governor's spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News. However, no one has so far been killed or wounded, he said.
The assailants fled the area soon after security forces arrived in the area, he said.
A local resident in the area, Azeem, on the other hand said that four vehicles of the international soldiers were torched incident.
Separately, a roadside bomb blast has destroyed a military vehicle of the foreign soldiers in the vicinity of Maidan Shahr, the provincial capital of the same province, a local official said, on condition of anonymity.
The incident took place in Polad Khan the city on Wednesday, he said. All the onboard soldiers had been killed as a result of the explosion, a resident Rahmatullah, said.
The NATO-led ISAF soldiers did not comment on this incident, yet.
The Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid on the other hand, claimed said that they had attacked the foreigners in Aryab area of the province, where a half an hour clash also erupted.
The bomb blast, which destroyed the military tank of foreigners, took place soon after the clash, he said.
