No Taliban Shura in Quetta: Balochistan CM

QUETTA (PAN‘s southwestern Balochistan province, a senior official said on Thursday.

Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani also denied the presence of Taliban’s supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar and key Al Qaeda figure Ayman al-Zawahiri in the province.

During a meeting with US Ambassador Cameron Munter, Raisani said that a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan was in the region’s interest. His view was endorsed by the diplomat.

With regard to recent sectarian attacks in the province, the chief minister said attempts at stoking sectarian tensions would not be allowed to succeed.
