Jihadi leaders, MPs meet Karzai
KABUL (PAN): President Hamid Karzai and former jihadi leaders and parliamentarians discussed on Saturday different issues, including results of last year's parliamentary election.
Vice President Qasim Fahim, acting chief justice Abdul Salam Azimi, Wolesi Jirga Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, Meshrano Jirga Chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar and Attorney General Ishaq Aloko met the president.
The outcome of the Sept. 18 election and the special tribunal's verdict figured during the meeting at the Presidential Palace. Participants briefed Karzai on the verdict.
The meeting was also attended by High Peace Council's chief, Burhanuddin Rabbani and National Reconciliation Commission chief, Sibghatullah Mujaddedi.
Advisors to the president, Niamatullah Shahrani and Din Mohammad, were also present, a statement from Karzai's office said.
Other participants were Ulema Council chief, Maulvi Qayamuddin Kashaf, Oversight Commission head Gul Rahman Qazi, Judicial Board Director Nasrullah Stanikzai and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Humayun Azizi.
