Militia commander killed in bomb attack
MAHMOOD RAQI (PAN): A tribal militia commander was killed in a roadside bombing in central Kapisa province, an official said on Tuesday.
The Taliban had violated a Ramazan truce with the government by conducting the bomb attack in the Taterkhel area of Tagab, said the district chief.
Abdul Hakim Akhunzada told Pajhwok Afghan News Commander Aziz was killed late on Monday night, when the first major ceasefire violation took place.
"During a security patrol, the militiamen's vehicle hit the roadside bomb," said Faiz Mohammad, an area resident. Three of the security personnel were injured.
As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying they remained committed to sparing civilians as part of the ceasefire accord.
