Weapons surrendered to DIAG
LASHKARGAH (PAN): Local officials said 69 weapons were handed over to the Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) programme in southern Zabul province on Tuesday.
The arms had been collected from a dissolved private security company, the Zabul police chief, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Hakim Angar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The weapons included 49 Kalashnikov assault rifles, four machine guns, a rocket-launcher and 13 other arms.
A DIAG programme official, Mohammad Nasim, said that serviceable weapons would be handed over to Afghan security forces.
