BALKH, August 10, 2011: Muhammad Din, a farmer in the Palas Posh village of Balkh district, says the money he earns from his watermelon crop will barely cover costs this season.

He said that watermelons had neither a robust local market or an organized system for export.

He asked the government to facilitate a market for his crops.
