6 foreign soldiers killed in bomb attacks

KABULinfo-icon(PANinfo-icon): Six International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) soldiers were killed in two different roadside bomb attacks in Afghanistaninfo-icon, the alliance said on Thursday.

Five of the troops were killed in a blast in the south today, a statement from the NATOinfo-icon-led force said. One soldier died in a similar assault in the same region late on Wednesday.

In line with its policy, ISAF neither disclosed the victims' nationalities nor the exact locations of the blasts.

With the latest fatalities, the number of international troops killed in Afghanistan so far in 2011 has increased to 389, including 283 US servicemembers.
