Law & justice library opens in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A new law and justice library -- a project aimed at supporting the rule of law -- was opened in Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province, on Sunday, the provincial reconstruction team (PRT) said.
"This is a great asset for all the people of Logar, who are interested in law and justice. Not only for judges, prosecutors and officials, but also for students and the wider public,“ Governor Attiqullah Lodin told the opening ceremony.
Gulab Muhammad, director of the Department of Justice, also applauded the project. "Until recently, the court shared one building with our department and with the Public Prosecutor. We had been requesting for quite some time new working space."
The project is part of Czech support to the governance system in Logar. "We consider a working government and justice system as a key condition towards a successful transition process," said Petr Svačina, head of the Civilian PRT.
