New district police HQ inaugurated
AIBAK (PAN): A newly-constructed building for the district police headquarters has been inaugurated in northern Samangan province, officials said on Sunday.
The single-story building, constructed over an acre of land with US assistance, cost $600,000 (28,218,000 afs), Abdul Manan, the acting police chief for Feroz Nakhchir district, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The headquarters has an administrative section, residential rooms for officers, fuel and weapons stores and observation towers, the said.
Construction of the building was a positive step towards resolving problems of policemen, Abdul Manan said.
"In the past, we were living in a very small building, which had no electricity and water. But the new facility meets all our needs," said a policeman, Abdul Salam.
