5 civilians killed in Uruzgan blast
TIRINKOT (PAN): At least five civilians were killed and 15 others wounded in an explosion in central Uruzgan province, officials said on Wednesday.
The blast took place on Tuesday evening in the Deh Rawud district bazaar, crime branch chief, Col. Gulab Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The injured including two women and were taken to the district hospital.
The incident came at around 7pm after a remote-controlled bicycle bomb was detonated in a square in the district bazaar,said the governor’s spokesman, Milad Ahmad Mudassir. He had no details about casualties.
But the provincial council head, Amanullah Hotaki, contradicted the figures, saying seven civilians had been killed and more than 27 others wounded. No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
