4 civilians perish in Helmand blast
LASHKARGAH (PAN): Four civilians were killed when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in southern Helmand province on Saturday, an official said.
The victims were travelling between Salam bazaar and Jazi areas of Nawzad district when the incident took place at around 12pm.
Col. Mohammad Ismail Khan, deputy chief of a joint coordination center of Afghan forces, said the dead bodies had been transferred to the district police headquarters.
The corpses could not be identified, he said. "We will make an announcement on radio about the dead to find their kin," Khan said, blaming militants for planting the bomb.
