KABULinfo-icon(PANinfo-icon): A four-member terrorist group that planned an attack on a police station in Kabul on Independence Day has been busted, an intelligence official said on Sunday.

Intelligence agents captured the four in the Shor Bazaar area of the capital, a spokesman for the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) told a press conference.

Lotfullah Mashal said the detainees planned a suicide assault on the second police district headquarters on Independence, marked on last Friday.

The detainees were identified as Obaidullah, alias Abdul Waris, Muhammad Sher, Roz Muhammad and Ghulam Muhammad.

In a video clip, they have confessed to planning disruptive activities at the behest of Mullahinfo-icon Bashir, a Peshawar-based Talibaninfo-icon leader.

Living for the past two months in Kabul, the men might have also played a role in the attack on British Council, the NDS spokesman believed.

Eight people, including two Nepalese Gurkhas, were killed and 22 others injured in the Taliban attack on the British Council in the heart of the capital.
