SHIBERGHAN (PAN): The distribution of residential plots in a teachers' township got under way in northern Jawzjan province on Sunday.

More than 580 teachers from Khanaqa and Aqcha districts benefitted from the housing scheme, Education Director Abdul Hay Yashin said.

As many as 580 residential plots, each measuring 450 square metres, have been distributed to teachers so far, the director told Pajhwok Afghan News.

One schoolteacher, Mohammad Khalid, demanded loans from the education ministry for construction on the plots. He suggested the loans should be recovered in instalments.
