TALUQAN (PAN): Hundreds of residents of a district in northern Takhar province on Thursday protested against the Independent Election Commission (IEC) for unseating nine Wolesi Jirga members.

Nearly 2,500 people took to the streets in Kalfgan district to protest the IEC Sunday's decision that disqualified nine MPs in favour of as many candidates previously declared as losers in last year's parliamentary election.
