Anti-terrorism court soon: Nabeel
Rahmatullah Nabeel, who was summoned by the Meshrano Jirga or upper house of parliament, told reporters he had taken up the issue with President Hamid Karzai and the Supreme Court chief justice. The two had agreed to the establishment of the court, Nabeel said.
He said the special anti-terrorism court was aimed at early release of innocents and punishment to the guilty ones.
Nabeel was summoned by the Meshrano Jirga to brief lawmakers about the increasing violence in the country. But the briefing was conducted behind closed doors.
He also told reporters that militants had shifted their war strategy to areas where the security transition process was underway.
