BALKH, August 26, 2011: A number of religious scholars and government officials on Friday vowed their support for Palestine during a ceremony to observe World Qudus Day by the Islamic Fraternity Council in northern Balkh province.

The participants chanted slogans and hung banners denouncing Zionism and calling for a continuous struggle against what they called Israel's attempts to deface Jerusalem Al-Quds, Islam's second Holy City.
