Floods wreck havoc in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Flash floods triggered by heavy rains killed three people and swept away thousands of acres of agricultural land in central Logar province, an official said on Monday.
Districts including Mohammad Agha, Baraki Barak and Charkh are the most affected areas, where more than 10,000 acres of agricultural land was destroyed, said Din Mohammad Darwish, the governor's spokesman.
Most of the affected land was cultivated with bean, potato, onion and maize crops, he said.
The Baraki Barak district chief, Mohammad Rahim Amin, said the floods had played havoc in his district, where one person was killed and more than 5000 acres land was damaged.
