Militants abduct 4 policemen in Nuristan
JALALABAD (PAN): Suspected militants abducted four policemen after injuring two of them during an attack in eastern Nuristan province, the governor said on Monday.
Governor Tamim Nuristani told Pajhwok Afghan News the rebels stormed a police check post in Paroon, the provincial capital, late on Monday, injuring two policemen and abducting four others.
However, police chief, Gen. Shamsurahman, said four police were injured and as many were seized by the attackers, who also torched a police vehicle.
Tribal leader Mohammad Musa said about six police were killed and five others were kidnapped by the Taliban. He accused the new governor, Nuristani, of not attending his office.
