KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): More than a hundred insurgents linked to the Haqqani terror network, an Afghan insurgent group based in Pakistaninfo-icon's Waziristan region, were killed this year in southeastern Afghanistaninfo-icon, NATOinfo-icon said Wednesday.

The above 100 insurgents, a half of them leaders and commanders, were killed during clashes with security forces in southeastern Khost, southern Ghazni, and central Uruzgan provinces, the alliance said in a statement.

The Talibaninfo-icon also claim to have inflicted heavy casualties on foreign and local forces during rebel attacks this year in the said provinces.

Political analyst, Mohammad Hassan, believes it is a propaganda war hatched by the parties involved. He said both sides in the war had so far been unable to produce credible evidences in defence of their claims.
