Rockets slammed into Bagram Airfield
KABUL (PAN): Insurgents fired at least two rockets at the Bagram Airbase, the largest detention facility of American forces in the central province of Parwan, but there were no casualties in the overnight attack, NATO said on Wednesday.
There was no serious damage or casualties when one of the rockets landed inside the base, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the fighters fired two rockets at the detention facility around 9pm last night. The rockets were landed inside, inflicting casualties on foreign troops, the rebel spokesman said.
The Bagram airfield, the largest coalition base, is witness to such attacks in the past as well.
