Weapons, explosives seized in Ghazni
GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Security forces seized weapons and explosives during a series of operations in various districts of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Sunday.
The operations involving Afghan and international forces were carried out in Qarabagh, Giro, and Ander districts, provincial police chief, Zarawer Zahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The weapons and explosives included two mortar shells, two 82 MM artillery rounds, four Dragons, three machineguns, one heavy machine gun, four 100-shot guns, 70 hand grenades and a number of different kinds of bullets and explosives, he said.
The explosives and weapons were meant for carrying out terrorist activities to disrupt the security situation in the province, the police chief said.
He also said some foreign and local militants were killed during the operations, but he had no figures.
