31 prisoners released from northeast zone prison
GARDEZ (PAN): Thirty-one prisoners were released from the southeast zone prison in compliance with a presidential decree issued on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and the 92nd Independence Day, officials said on Monday.
The released prisoners reunited with their families during a special ceremony held in this regard in Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktika province. Heads of various provincial departments also attended the ceremony.
The prison commander, Brig. Gen. Tawab Ahmedzai, told the gathering that the released prisoners included two women. The inmates belonged to Paktika, Paktia, Khost and Logar provinces, he said.
